Week 6 Update

Weekly Schedule Update

Monday:  Long Run, Practice from 2:45pm – 4:45pm

Tuesday:  Easy Run, Practice from 2:45pm – 4:15/4:30pm

Wednesday:  HILLS, Practice from 2:45pm – 4:45pm

Thursday:  Easy Run, Practice from 2:45pm – 4:15pm/4:30pm

Friday:  Easy Run, Practice from 2:45pm – 4:15pm/4:30pm

Saturday:  The Gator, Practice at Reservoir HS from 7:30am – 9:30am/9:45am.

This is our first Saturday in a while without a meet.  It is imperative we are here for this workout.  This a key workout and will be vital for how things proceed for the rest of the season. 

 

Things to Remember:

  • Remember, you can always find the workouts on the team website or CLICK HERE
  • We have been building mileage the last few weeks. Our athlete are running between 30 and 52 miles in a week!  Some people don’t drive that far!  Please make sure they are eating all of their meals.  Please make sure they have snacks and are staying properly hydrated!
  • Next week the athletes will feel some reprieve as it’s a big down week, meaning less mileage and more recovery! So next week, practices will be over much earlier on Tuesday and Thursday (4:00pm – approximately)
  • Monday, Sept 26: We can not have practice due to the religious holiday, however it is very important that our athletes get in their long run.  My suggestion is that the team captains schedule a time to meet and go for a run.  If you can make, it would be ideal.  If you can not make the run, athletes will need to get in a long run of their own and post to strava.  If there are any concerns, please simply reach out to me and let me know.
  • Wednesday, Sept 28: This is our home meet.  We typically recognize the Seniors with a small ceremony.  The Coaches will say a few words about the Athletes and the Junior Parents typically take care of a few small gifts, snacks, etc.  Mentors/Mentees also tend to help with this to take care of their senior teammates.  We will do this before the meet starts.  More details to come.  Also, next Wednesday will be workout within the meet.  It will be a good one though!  It will test them!
  • Friday, Sept 29: I’ll send out more details later, but athletes need to plan on eating at First lunch.  I will provide passes for all of the runners heading to North Carolina.  They will eat at first lunch and then head directly to the motor coach to board and depart by 11:00am.  More details, full schedule and payment option coming out tomorrow or Wednesday.  Athletes should bring a few snacks for the bus ride along with anything specific they want to drink on the bus.  Think about Snacks and drinks for the bus ride.  Again, more details forth coming!
