Important Items for the Week

End of the Season

  • As a reminder: Athletes are required to finish the season with the team. Meaning they will attend all races all the way up until the state meet.  If a team/individual qualifies to the state meet, we will all attend the state meet to support our teammates.  This is a team requirement.

  • Nike Cross Country Regional (Saturday, November 22)
    • Nike XC Regionals is a unique experience that we get to offer to the Cross Country runners. NXR is a qualifying race for Nike Cross Country Nationals.  NXR – Southeast is Maryland’s region, and it happens to be on the same course that we ran on down in North Carolina in early October.
    • This opportunity is 100% optional and open to anyone on the team.
    • However, this is a NON-SCHOOL Sponsored event. Transportation, hotels and most of the payments are made individually.
    • If your athlete decides to attend, I will register the team and pay for the registration, but that is the only cost you will pay me.
      • As this is a non-school sponsored event, you would pay me directly. NOT THE SCHOOL.

    • This is the LAST CALL for anyone interested in the event. We need to make final registrations by Nov 9.
    • ALL I NEED RIGHT NOW is to know if you are interested. Here is who I have so far on the list:
      • Griffin Ellinghaus
      • Jackson Pascarello
      • Colin Poon
      • Connor Walsh
      • Jack Waltman
      • Celeste Martin
      • Ela Muniz

  • Indoor Track/Time off
    • We hope that all Cross Country athletes continue running with the team during the Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Seasons. If you do not plan to do so, please have that conversation with a Coach.
    • CURRENTLY only the athletes selected to the state championships and those selected as an alternate should be running. Everyone else should be taking a break.
    • Those taking a break can return back to running on or about, November 15th. (First day of Indoor Track & Field)
    • Enjoy some down time.  Get some rest!
    • SIDE NOTE: Indoor track & field practice requirements are very similar to Cross Country in regard to time commitment. However, the biggest difference is that student athletes only attend meets they are scheduled to compete in.  If you are not selected for a meet, you do not have to attend.

  • Athletes of the Meet – Regional CHAMPIONSHIPS
    • Each of the major meets we like to recognize a few athletes for being AWESOME! That could be running a really fast time, Personal best effort, or other amazing feats!
    • For the 3A South Regional Championships, we wanted to recognize the following:
      • Corrina Fritz: Corrina ran a personal best of 22:31, ranking as the 14th fastest freshman in Reservoir history. She placed in the top 5 for the girls’ team and contributed as a varsity scoring member. Outstanding performance, Corrina!
      • Myles Eldridge-Dooley: Myles ran a personal best of 19:51, finishing 3rd at the Team Time Trial. He showed up ready to race, made a big jump in team ranking, and earned recognition as a Varsity Alternate. Great work, Myles!
      •  Carter Jackson: Carter has set personal bests at nearly every meet this season, most recently improving to 23:09 for the 5K. Fantastic progress, Carter!
      • Victoria Mulira: Victoria ran another personal best of 26:51, improving by over 7 minutes this season. She is a key member of the girls varsity 7 for the State Championships. Outstanding effort, Victoria!
      • Micheal Drummond: Michael ran 18:30, he competed very well and ran fast. As the #5 runner on the team, he helped the team finish 3rd overall. He is now the 18th-ranked 10th grader in Reservoir 5K history. Great race, Michael!
      • Ela Muniz: Ela competed with the best in the region, finishing 8th and helping the team qualify for States. Just 32 seconds off her personal best, she holds the 3-mile school record and is 6th all-time in the 5K. Ela recently committed to University of Wilmington (DE) for Cross Country and Track & Field. Fantastic performance!
      • McKenzie Eldridge-Dooley: McKenzie ran just 9 seconds off his personal best as the #6 runner on the team, helping the team qualify for States. Great effort, McKenzie!

Upcoming Events/Looking Ahead

Volunteer Opportunity

Reservoir’s Pookie Trot 5k.  (CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS)

On November 22, please join Us for the First Annual "Pookie Trot" – Honoring Reservoir Alumni, Amy Armstrong and Raising Awareness About Relationship Abuse. On November 22nd, 2025, we will gather in Fulton, Maryland, for the first annual Pookie Trot 5K Walk/Run, honoring the life and spirit of Amy Armstrong – lovingly known as “Pooks". Amy was a vibrant, loving soul whose life was tragically cut short due to domestic violence in October 2024. In her memory, we are coming together as a community to celebrate her life, raise awareness about relationship abuse, and support those who may be suffering in silence.
