Reservoir Cross Country Families,
Our team trip to North Carolina is September 30 – October 1. This a trip that the athletes, coaches and my parents look forward to every season! Yes, my parents live in Raleigh, and we stop by their house for a Traditional NC BBQ lunch following the meet. In short, this is such a fun and exciting weekend.
Typically, the cost to of the event is between $75 and $100 per athlete. The fee covers the cost of the charter bus, hotel rooms, entry fees and other costs associated with the trip.
However, with rising gas prices, driver shortages, etc., the bus fee is significantly more expensive than ever before. When you calculate our smaller team size into the equation, the fee per student-athlete for all the above is approximately $200 per athlete.
I believe this is way too much to expect families to pay so I have come up with a few options and would like your input to make a plan moving forward:
Option A: Leave the Schedule the same, I will pay the $200 (Approximately) or you are indifferent to the Plans Listed.
Option B: Self Transport, families could coordinate a carpool and bring athletes down to the hotel on Friday, to the meet on Saturday, to my parents house for lunch and then home on Saturday
Option C: Create a new meet schedule and substitute the North Carolina Trip for a team day trip or look into a few other possible meet locations
