While HCPSS and the Reservoir Community stayed cozy at home on Saturday, January 31st, the Reservoir Track & Field team braved the elements and was given special permission to compete at the MPSSAA 3A West Indoor Track & Field Regional Championships!
No practice for a week? Snow, ice, freezing cold temperatures? None of it could stop these remarkable student-athletes—because “THE MEET MUST GO ON!”
In the face of adversity, every member of the Reservoir Community can be proud of these kids because these outstanding young men and women brought heart, hustled with grit, and displayed unbreakable Reservoir pride. Their passion and sheer determination lit up the track, making all of us incredibly proud!
The boys team battled fiercely, finishing 5th overall and fighting for the regional title right down to the wire. Although a couple of tough breaks took us out of contention, our team’s effort and competitive spirit shone through until the very end!
Our girls delivered an equally thrilling performance, finishing 3rd in a hard-fought race for the regional crown. Oakdale and North Hagerstown may have edged ahead, but our athletes pushed every limit and left it all on the track!

If an athlete/relay finished 1st or 2nd, they automatically advance to the state championships. We will know if other athletes qualified at the conclusion of the last 3A Regional championship this evening. I will be updating the state qualifiers as the events happen this evening.
