SUBJECT: Great American Cross Country Invitational
On our schedule we have the Great American Cross Country Invitational in Cary, North Carolina scheduled for October 1, 2022. We have decided that this meet will be our Team Bonding Trip. The meet will provide an opportunity for many of our athletes to compete at a great venue with strong competition.
We will be leaving Friday after first lunch and returning home Saturday night. I want to encourage them to bring any work with them as to not fall behind in academics.
We have already been in conversation and very open about the cost. Coach Laura, Mrs. Upson and several other families have worked hard to bring the cost of the trip down and to make sure there are funds for anyone who may not be able to afford the full cost of the trip. I am so thankful for their efforts. We know this will be a memorable trip for our kids.
I mentioned that the cost of the trip prior to any donations, would be around $200. At this point, I can say that the number has come down. The exact cost of the trip will be determined by the number of athletes that attend. The final cost includes the charter bus, meet fees, hotel, dinner at my parents and other miscellaneous trip items.
Breakfast on Saturday will be available through the hotel at no cost (hot continental) however snacks will be up to the athlete. Mrs. Upson has also arranged for Carrabas Italian Grill to cater our dinner on Friday for $10 a person. Please note that there will be vendors at the meet for food and t-shirts.
I will ultimately pass out permission forms the week leading up to the trip. Money will not be due until the day prior. You will be able to pay in cash, check (payable to RHS) and online using a credit or debit card.
We will have three - four male coaches, a female coach and a female chaperone.
