I hope all is well and you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.  Below has a lot of important Information.  Please read and be aware.

Reminders and Updates:

  1. Team Spirit Wear was ordered.
  2. If you ordered a team warm-up, I may still need to get in touch with you. We had quite a few warm-up orders, but a number families did not follow directions and fill out the google form first.  We had quite a few pay, but never filled out sizes and ordering information.  So the order for the warm-ups have been delayed.
  3. As you know, the team has been set. Here is a list of our official team roster:  Team Roster

Upcoming Meet Information:

We have 5 meets in the month of December and we want you to know our general plan.

December 6 (PG Complex): This meet will primarily be a distance meet along with Throwers and Pole Vaulters.    The meet line up should come out on Wednesday evening.

December 13 (Mercersburg Academy, PA): This is a Varsity meet, and we will have two buses.  We will take approximately 60 athletes to this meet.  But this again, is an upper tier/caliber meet.  This meet will have an early dismissal of 12:15pm on Friday, Dec 13 and we arrive back to RHS around 10:30pm.  Athletes need to bring a few dollars for dinner or pack food/drinks.  We will eat lunch prior to departing but the athletes will be hungry at some point!

December 16 (PG Complex):  This meet will be a SPRINTERS meet along with most of the field events (Throwing, Pole Vault, Jumps).  If you are a thrower or a Vaulter that attended the first two meets or scheduled for the meet on Dec 21, you may not be scheduled for this meet.

December 21 (PG Complex): This is a Varsity meet, and we will have one bus.  We will encourage athletes that are selected for this meet to self transport so they can arrive closer to their start time and depart after their competition.  This is a long meet and the Bus will depart Reservoir around 7:15am and would not arrive back to Reservoir until 6:30pm.  This again, is an upper tier/caliber meet.

December 27 (PG Complex): This meet is over the holiday break and we are aware that you may be traveling.  If you would like to be considered for this meet, you simply need to fill out this google doc.  CLICK HERE.  We will have one bus.  We will encourage athletes that are selected for this meet to self transport so they can arrive closer to their start time and depart after their competition.  This is a long meet and the Bus will depart Reservoir around 8:15am and would not arrive back to Reservoir until 5:00pm.

Other Important Information:

Unexcused Lateness to School:  If you are not on time to school and it is not EXCUSED, you may not practice or participate in a Meet.  If you are late to school more than 2 times, you will be removed from your next meet.  If this becomes a long term issue, you will be removed from the team.

Finally, please help our athletes be the best versions of themselves by adopting some of these healthy habits:

Consistent Training and Discipline:  Discipline is the cornerstone of athletic success. It's what gets an athlete to train on days they don't feel like it. Consistent training, underpinned by discipline, ensures that skills are honed, endurance is built, and performance peaks at the right time.  Be at practice Daily!

Rest and Recovery:  Understanding the importance of rest and recovery is crucial. Successful athletes know that the body needs time to repair and strengthen itself after intense training sessions. This includes adequate sleep, rest days, and appropriate recovery techniques to prevent injuries and enhance performance longevity.  Don't forget about proper nutritional habits.

Nutritional Discipline:  Fueling the body with the right nutrients is essential for peak performance. Successful athletes adhere to a nutrition plan tailored to their specific needs, training regimen, and goals. This discipline ensures they have the energy for training and competitions, as well as for recovery.

Mental Toughness and Resilience:  The ability to stay focused, positive, and resilient in the face of adversity is what defines mental toughness. Successful athletes develop coping strategies to deal with setbacks, maintain confidence, and persevere through challenges.

Time Management:  Balancing training, competitions, recovery, and personal life requires excellent time management skills. Successful athletes prioritize their responsibilities and make efficient use of their time to ensure all aspects of their training and personal life are addressed.

Social Support and Teamwork:  Even in individual sports, the support of coaches, family, friends, and teammates plays a vital role in an athlete's success. This network provides emotional support, motivation, and constructive feedback. Successful athletes nurture these relationships and value the collective effort toward their personal achievements.

Attention to Detail:  Success often lies in the details. This could mean refining technique, optimizing equipment, or tweaking strategies based on competition analysis. Successful athletes pay attention to these details, understanding that in the high stakes of competitive sports, they can make all the difference.

Self-Belief and Confidence:  Belief in one's abilities is paramount. Successful athletes foster a strong sense of self-confidence, not as a byproduct of their achievements but as a foundational element of their mindset. This confidence fuels their drive to pursue ambitious goals and overcome obstacles.
