Indoor Track & Field: Week 1

Indoor Track & Field:  First Week Update

Good Morning to our Indoor Track & Field Family!

Welcome to the Indoor Track & Field Team.

Here are some of the most important items that you need to know about the Indoor Track & Field Season 2024/2025.

I will continue to update this page and the Pre-Season Handout with any new information.

  1. In case you missed it, here is the preseason handout that should answer most questions about the start of the indoor season.  Please read.  Click here for the Pre-Season Handout
    • Fill Out the Google Team Information Form – The Google form is where I get your email addresses from to populate my email distribution lists. Please be sure to fill out the Google Form (Team Info Link).  It is #1 on the preseason handout.
    • Join the Remind APP (Families and Athletes)
  1. Required Parent/Athlete Meeting on Thursday, November 21st @  7:00pm.  Virtual Team Information Meeting Link:  https://meet.google.com/cjf-nrcg-wgq
  1. Team Time Trials will take place on Thursday, November 21st and Friday, November 22nd.  These are mandatory. These are used to determine paces, practice groups, Varsity and Junior Varsity Athletes.  As a result of the growing interest in the Track & Field, we will use the Time Trials as Tryouts. Meaning there will be cuts.  Listed on the team website, are the Indoor Standards that will guarantee you a spot on the team. If you do not achieve these standards, Coaches will use the times/marks achieved at the Team Time Trials to determine who will earn a spot on the team.  Most, if not all, 9th graders that participate in all the practices and time trials, will earn the right to remain on the team.
  2. Special Note: If you are a dual sport athlete (Soccer/lax/volleyball/football/etc.) and are considering Indoor Track & Field, please reach out to me so we can coordinate practice schedules and games/matches.  We can make just about anything work in regard to second sports, but we need to talk about it.

Other Important Information:

First, complete all Athletic Paperwork and confirm that your name is in GREEN on the team list.  To confirm your status on the team.  Click this link:  Team List  If you are in green, you are set.  If you don't see your name or you are NOT marked as eligible, you have not completed paperwork.  If you are not in Green, YOU ARE NOT ON THE TEAM.  You have until Wednesday, November 20.  No exceptions.  If you need help uploading the paperwork, follow this link:  PAPERWORK HELP LINK

Second, Team Spirit Wear and Team Warm-Ups are optional but very popular.  All orders are due by November 25thSpirit Wear and Warm-Ups LINK

Third, NEW athletes to the team are expected to purchase team shorts.  This is done for sanitary reasons and these shorts are kept by the athletes at the end of the season.  You can pay $30 Cash, Check (Payable to RHS) or you can pay for them online.  CLICK HERE to pay online

Fourth, a new policy for the 2024/2025 school year that has been set by the administration is regarding student arrival to school.  If a student has an unexcused late arrival to school, they will not be able to participate in practice.  If they are late on a meet day, they will not be able to attend the meet.  If a student has more than two UNEXCUSED late arrivals, they will be removed from their next scheduled meet.

Thanksgiving Week (Mon, Nov 25 – Sat, Nov 30) : There is No Official Team Practice.  We will provide all groups with practices/workouts to complete on their own.  It is imperative that all athletes workout over the Holiday Break.  Our first meet of the season will be the week we return (Dec 6).  Not practicing could result in a poor performance or injury.
