Indoor TF 2025/2026: Week 2

During today's team meeting, several important points were addressed. Effective communication is essential, and both athletes and parents are expected to read emails and actively participate in all communications. With over 120 athletes on the team, it is not feasible for coaches to provide individualized explanations to everyone.  As many of you know I have been trying to get athletes to acknowledge their acceptance on the team and to ensure a few things have been communicated.  I still need 8 more athletes to complete the google form on the top of the team list.  

To facilitate communication, athletes and parents are asked/encouraged to join the REMIND text message app (the PreSeason Handout has the joining info), and students should also join their respective GROUPME (You will need to see a team captain/or returning member to give you the QR CODE) message groups according to their event group (Distance, Throws, Sprints, Pole Vault). Additionally, all families must complete the Team Info Form available on the team website, as this serves as our emergency contact information. (This is on the PreSeason Handout)

Selection for upcoming meets will be based on Team Time Trial Results and attendance by a parent or guardian at the mandatory team/parent meeting scheduled for Tuesday.  (See Preseason Handout for Link)

Furthermore, if an athlete is unable to attend practice, notification from the athlete or parent must be provided prior to the start of practice.  We had quite a few athletes absent from practice today and I did not recieve any form of communication.  Failure to communicate an absence from practice can get you removed from a meet or removed from the team.  (Team Rules)

Lastly, I wanted to remind you that there is a Mandatory Parent/Team Meeting tomorrow night at 7pm.  This is virtual and can be viewed on your phone, a laptop, tablet, etc.  (See Preseason Handout for Link)

  1. ORDER YOUR Team Spirit Wear, Warm-Ups and your team shorts.  If you can, please consider making a donation to the team.  Track & Field Spirit Wear, Donation, Page
    • Spirit Wear and Warm-Ups are Optional, but NEW FOR 2025 - They ship directly to your house and you will typically receive your items in 5 - 7 days after purchase.
    • Team Shorts:  All new athletes and asked to purchase the shorts.  You can pay Cash, Check (Payable to RHS) or Pay Online.
    • Donations:  This year's funds will directly to getting EVERY athlete a team shirt.  I would love to buy the team all a Long Sleeve Team Shirt.
  2. Here are a few House Keeping Items that I want you all to be aware of:
    • We have a mandatory Parent/Team Meeting (Virtual) on Tuesday, Dec 2 @ 7pm. Google Meet joining info:  Video call link: https://meet.google.com/okr-uaby-fna
    • We have a Team Night at Feet First on Wednesday, Dec 3 from 5pm - 8pm.  This is a great oppoturnity to get properly fitted for training shoes and racing spikes.  You will also receive a discount for attending.
    • We will also have Swift Running joining us on On Thursday, Dec 4 after school from 4pm - 6:00pm.  This is another opportunity to get shoes at a major discount!  They will set up at Reservoir, inside the school, during practice, and Parents/Athletes can purchase shoes from them on Site.
    • If you have not done so, please be sure you have filled out the Team Info Form (#1) and join the remind (#2).  You can access this all from the Preseason Handout
    • I will be updating my email addresses and distribution lists over the next few days.  In the meantime, please join the remind, or check the announcement page on the website
