First off, Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Track Moms! Hope you are having a nice day!
Secondly, I want to express my frustrations and my sincerest apologies for the track meet being cancelled yesterday. The coaches of all 6 schools and the Athletic Director of Mt. Hebron put forth an honest effort to try and make this event happen. We all discussed the weather situation. After multiple thunder and lightning delays, we met to look at the radar. We had hopes to try and get the meet in. We discussed a number of different scenarios to try and move forward with the meet. However, the radar showed a long string of storms heading our way. After hail and two more thunder/lightning delays, we (along with the Marriotts Ridge 6 team meet) decided to cancel with hopes of rescheduling the meet.
The AD’s of Marriott’s Ridge (location of the other 6 team meet) and Mt. Hebron, along with our Track & Field commissioner and County Coordinator of Athletics will be meeting tomorrow to try and determine a suitable solution. We should know more by tomorrow afternoon.
Finally, we have a pretty normal week ahead of us and it will conclude with our next scheduled meet. This meet will be at Glenelg High School and it will start at 2:00pm and will end by 6:00pm.
A time schedule, order of events, heat sheets, etc. will all be published Wednesday Evening or Thursday Morning.
