Important Items for the Week
- Reminders: If the temperatures are below 60 degrees, athletes are required to wear long sleeves AND long pants during the warm-up, drills, cool down and core exercises. Failure to have the appropriate clothing could result in you getting sent home from practice.
- After Thursday (Regional Championships):
- Only the athletes selected for the Varsity Team and the alternates need to attend practice.
- It is encouraged that you take two weeks off and enjoy some down time.
- If you are doing Indoor Track & Field, you will start back up when the Indoor season begins.
- Athletes of the Meet – COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS
- Each of the major meets we like to recognize a few athletes for being AWESOME! That could be running a really fast time, Personal best effort, or other amazing feats!
- For the Howard County Championships, we wanted to recognize the following:
- Ben Shiferaw: What an awesome race! Ben attacked it from the gun and held strong in the top 10 for most of the race. He crushed it with PRs for both 3 miles and the converted 5k—and his effort earned him a top 10 spot on the Boys Varsity team! Way to step up, Ben!
- Myles Eldridge-Dooley: What a breakout performance! Myles had one of the biggest races of the day, crushing his previous best with a massive 3+ minute PR for 3 miles—and a 24-second PR when converted to a 5k. Even more impressive, he jumped 8 spots in the team rankings and is now the boys’ #11 runner! Incredible progress, Myles—so proud of you!
- Carter Jackson: What an incredible performance from Carter! He smashed his previous times with a 24-second personal best for the converted 5k and an unbelievable 90+ second improvement in the 3-mile. Another impressive stat—at the start of the season, Carter ran his 2-mile time trial in 17:34 (8:47 pace). Now, he’s running 3.0–3.1 miles at a blazing 7:24 pace per mile! That’s next-level progress. Outstanding work, Carter!
- Jonah Coler: Jonah has been putting in the work, and it’s paying off in a big way! He crushed it with a 16-second personal best for the converted 5k and continues to show incredible progress. At the start of the season, Jonah ran his 2-mile time trial in 17:50 (8:55 pace), and now he’s racing at an impressive 7:37 per mile pace! His dedication and effort are fueling some major breakthroughs—awesome job, Jonah!
- Luke Emad: Luke has been on fire this season! He’s shown incredible progress, cutting over 2 minutes from his time since the Eagle Invite. His hard work, consistency, and determination have truly paid off—Luke is now the team’s #12 runner! Keep it up, Luke—you’re making huge strides!
- Ella Linera: Ella dominated the course as the #1 Reservoir girl at the Howard County Championships! She ran aggressively from the start, showing grit and determination. While just a few seconds shy of her overall personal best, she achieved an impressive 2+ minute improvement from the Eagle Invite, finishing 17th overall. Incredible effort, Ella!
- Corrina Fritz: Corrina delivered an outstanding performance, cutting more than 2 minutes and 20 seconds from her Eagle Invite time and finishing just one second shy of her converted 5k PR! Her hard work and consistency have paid off—she now ranks #6 all-time on the Reservoir Freshman Girls 3-Mile list! Amazing job, Corrina!
- Rumi Khalid: Rumi continues to impress with his steady improvement and competitive spirit! He cut nearly 2 minutes from his Eagle Invite time and finished just one second off his converted 5k PR. Rumi races with confidence and heart every time he steps on the course—and it shows! His season bests in both the 5k and 3-mile have each dropped by over a minute this year. Outstanding work, Rumi!

On November 22, please join Us for the First Annual "Pookie Trot" – Honoring Reservoir Alumni, Amy Armstrong and Raising Awareness About Relationship Abuse. On November 22nd, 2025, we will gather in Fulton, Maryland, for the first annual Pookie Trot 5K Walk/Run, honoring the life and spirit of Amy Armstrong – lovingly known as “Pooks". Amy was a vibrant, loving soul whose life was tragically cut short due to domestic violence in October 2024. In her memory, we are coming together as a community to celebrate her life, raise awareness about relationship abuse, and support those who may be suffering in silence.
