Building Mental Toughness

************Team, AMAZING OPPORTUNITY! ALERT*********

One of the biggest questions we had last season was about mental toughness.  How to build mental strength/resilience?  Many times, the difference in a Personal Best time or a high finish in a race is how hard you can push yourself, MENTALLY.

Coach Bobby was able to work with Benson Lang'at - a PhD in psyche, and they are holding a free virtual program for HS kids this Thursday at 8 pm EST. The program is called Mental Resilience for XC and Track athletes.

I really want everyone to attend.  You do not have to say anything, you just have to listen!  Of course you will be able to ask questions, but this is a great opportunity and a wonderful way to start off our 2025 XC SEASON!

Little more about the presentation:

The program is mental resilience for XC and track athletes- geared for middle school, HS and College runners.   Benson - is an amazing person.  He has a PhD in psychology and he teaches courses including sports psyche.

Below is the link to sign up.   The kids will sign up, put in their email address and be sent the access code to get into the meeting.  It's free!

As an aside, Benson is from Kenya- and came here for his college.   He has run a 5k in 14:19,  10 K in 29:45, marathon in 2:19:11.
