Saturday:  MEET HAS BEEN CANCELLED

We are still hoping to have practice.  We will make an announcement about that shortly.

Look ahead to next week:

Monday:  No School, No Practice, but the kids are expected to get in a RUN.  Getting TOGETHER to run is a great idea!  However, at the end of the day, all athletes will need to post their run to Strava.  The workout will be posted in the workout doc.

Wednesday:  We have a league meet at Oakland Mills HS.  I want to explain how we (the coaching staff) view race efforts.  We try to keep race efforts to a minimum and have them focus on racing the big meets.  However, we are required/expected to attend the County League Meets.  Typically, our plan has the kids performing a "WORKOUT" during the race at League Meets.  For Example, instead of racing the 3.0 miles or 5k, the kids may do a 3 mile tempo followed by a track workout for speed work.  Next week at Oakland Mills, the MAJORITY of the athletes will perform a tempo workout during the "Race" portion of the meet and afterwards they will complete a track workout for additional strength/speed work.  A full itinerary will be sent out in the next weekly update.

I like to our plan so that you (as the parent) are not taking unnecessary days off from work.

Also, in regards to Wednesday, due to our newly acquired bus company, ZUM, we can not be picked up until 5pm.  Therefore the meet will not start until 6:15pm.  I will confirm later this week, the exact schedule, but I wanted to give you a heads up.
