XC 2023: Week 6 Update

What a crazy last week!  Let’s hope we don’t have those kinds of temperatures again!  But we did have a lot of bright spots this week!

Despite the heat, more than 90% of the team ran every day (either in the morning before school or in the evening) and posted their runs to Strava!  We (the coaches) are all so proud of you!  What dedication and commitment!  That time will pay off in the long run!

Thank you to the McDerment's for hosting a team Pasta Party this week!  The team had a great time!

This weekend, many of you ran for the first time and ran on a very tough course!  Let’s celebrate all these accomplishments!

First, let’s look at those who ran a personal best time in the 3.0!

Connor Walsh, 37s personal best!

Evan Hooks, 1.4s personal best!

Leo Lim, 14.2s personal best!

Sam Swirsky, 54s personal best time!

Jack Waltman, 61s personal best time!

Evan Chan only ran 17s off his all time best mark in the 3 mile!

Colin Poon only ran 18s off his all time best mark in the 3 mile!

Finally, two major standout accomlishments!!!

Scarlett Guenin, ran 19:55, a 27s personal best time, and now has the 6th fastest time in Reservoir History!

Jackson Pascarello, ran 18:40, which ranks him as the 6th fastest freshman of all time in Reservoir History!

Special Thank you to the Ellinghaus’s and Mrs. Borum for putting on a heck of a spread for us at the Eagle Invite.  Waters, Gatorades, snacks, and benches/cots!  Love it!  Thank you so much!

Team Trip Update:  On Friday, every athlete should have gotten the below parent letter from me.  They are required to get it signed and returned.  The trip letter outlines the official plan for the trip and an approximate cost.  I need to start finalizing plans, rooms, etc.  If you lost your form, please print the form off and bring it to practice or drop it off in room 327.
